·         Jewelry rule is now in for SVI League Play –it is listed in the SVI Rules-make sure your coaches/players/parents are aware.

·         Mites –Cannot be picked up for Provincial Play

  1. League Play – After discussion the following will be adapted for League play in 2011
  2.

i)          Mixed teams in Mites will play in either Tier 1 or 2(same as the female only teams)

ii)        Mites teams made up entirely of boys will play in the Squirt C league. (If found to be weak within that division they can set up exhibition games with Mites Tier 1 teams that are in agreement to  play them).

iii)       ‘A’ classified teams will play in the ‘B’ classified category of the age group above them.

ü  Exception: The Victoria Fastball Club is fielding a first year Squirts team comprised almost entirely of players born in 2000 and 2001(Mites). This team is 10/11 years old and to play in Peewee B would face players of ages up to 14 years old. The size and strength difference is great. All agreed this team will play in the Squirt B division for league play (where extra teams are always appreciated for variety). The team will be watched and if they develop to be stronger than the Squirt B league can sustain-they will move into the Peewee B league at that time. This Devils 2000 team will register as Squirt ‘A and not play in the Squirt B Districts’.

iv)       Boys teams vs Girls teams – Boys teams are to play girls teams that are up one category and/or age group. i.e.:  Squirt C Boys can play Squirt B girls, Peewee C girls or Peewee B girls.-it is up to the association/coaches discretion based      on the strength of each of these teams. When one team is found to be stronger; teams can try switching so their pitchers pitch to their own team as a way to even out the abilities.
